The Job you will do:

• Deliver the development of systems that are robust and in line with customer expectations.
• Analyse project requests to ensure the optimum software languages and applications are used and correct developer skills are applied.
• Ensure deployment procedures are robust and followed to eliminate any risks to live environment.
• Ensure development tools used are updated and code is secure from external threats.
• Assign, monitor, evaluate and ensure the completion of tasks and projects within the team.
• Work with the Infrastructure manager to ensure optimisation of systems / platform resource.
• Provide guidance to team members and encourage work productivity.
• Ensure technical support and guidance is provided to other departments when required.
• Ensure tickets are addressed and closed out within the reasonable agreed timeframes, and/ or communication with the end user is frequent and clear.
• Support internal departments with projects where development is required for end delivery.
• Proactively review and identify opportunities for improvement across all existing systems and operational practices.
• Develop effective working relationships with key internal stakeholders at levels in the business to ensure constructive communication is always maintained.
• Monitor staff performance, identifying skill gaps and opportunities to strengthen the team.

About you:

• You will hold a Computer Science / Maths / Statistics or other related degree qualification.
• Experience / qualifications in ITIL / Prince2 or equivalent project change management methodology.
• Skilled / experience in GITHUB deployment and pipeline creation.
• Skilled hands-on developer in one or more languages.
• Good organisational, presentational, planning and administration skills.
• Excellent interpersonal communication and negotiation skills.
• Ability to work under pressure and react to changing priorities.
• Ability to lead a team of developers while maintaining a positive working environment.
• Ability to communicate across all levels of the business.
