Our goal is to exceed the standards required for Cyber Essentials Plus certification which will fundamentally alter the technology target operating model. Significant changes to our End User computing and server architecture will be necessary as well as to the way we deploy, manage, and maintain Trust hardware and user accounts.
Working with other members of the IT Department and third-party providers, you will ensure we provide exceptional service to our colleagues by supporting them through set up, configuration and using the variety of IT systems and services utilised in the Trust.
Owing to the geographical spread of our sites, you will have the opportunity of travel to provide face to face support as well as set up and configuration of desktop computing and networking devices.
Our Trust uses Microsoft on-premise systems and Microsoft 365 combined with SaaS based applications supporting specific business needs. We are investing in Microsoft 365 and seeking to benefit from cloud-based services and private cloud infrastructure. This approach will enable more effective collaboration with colleagues in disparate locations and establish a secure framework within which to manage and maintain Trust hardware assets and information.
As an IT Field Technician End User Support, your responsibilities will include:
- Providing hands-on and remote and onsite technical support of desktop computers, laptops, printers and fixed line telephony
- Build, configure, deliver and set up IT hardware in Trust locations
- Identifying opportunities to improve service, work with colleagues and contribute to developing and implementing improvement plans
- Helping to maintain SaaS based fixed line telephony
- Helping to maintain the asset register ensuring new and returned devices are correctly allocated
- Responding to first and second-line support cases via face to face, telephone or the IT Service Management application
- Reasonable understanding of Microsoft desktop Operating systems
- Experience of using Active Directory
- Working knowledge of Microsoft office applications including Outlook
- Awareness of data and server back-up technologies and methodologies
- The ability to be a confident and credible communicator internally and externally
- Experience of end point management and protection including anti-virus and patch management
- At least three years experience as an IT Helpdesk technician
- Appreciation of ITIL processes including incident, problem, change and asset management
- Evidence of problem solving and troubleshooting to achieve a successful outcome
