The Project Information and Engineering applications Manager is responsible for overseeing the support for Mott MacDonald's project information platforms and engineering applications. Working as part of the global Project Systems Management team within the IT department, the Manager will oversee the support of existing technology and workflows as well as lead in the implementation of emerging technologies. This role will assist with management of resources, maintenance regimes, and support escalations of applications from vendors such as Autodesk, Bentley, and Tekla.
Team Management
- Manage a team of specialist for Project Information Platforms and Engineering applications.
- Ensure the administration of Project Information environments, Configuration of templates and data sources.
- Ensure license compliance and management processes are in place.
- Oversee the development of workflows/rules for engineering applications to meet project and business requirements.
- Research and Development of new services.
- Ensure processes are in place for the implementation of upgrades and migration to future application versions and services.
IT Service Delivery & Operations.
- Oversee and collaborate with Application Packaging, Asset Management and Service Owners to deliver and deploy applications on a global scale.
- Act as a point of contact for related issues and implement service improvements to continually improve the service.
- Act as an escalation point for issues raised with 3rd party vendors on incident escalation and problem management.
- Ensure application testing through user acceptance testing is completed satisfactorily.
- Ensure all related applications are kept up-to-date on the IT Service Catalogue.
- Ensure Knowledge based articles are created and maintained to the correct technical standard.
- Provide written documentation, updates, and root cause analysis on incidents, and resolutions.
- Ensure systems are Monitored to ensure optimum service availability.
- Participate in projects to implement new service offerings, acting as Project Manager on smaller elements of work.
- Ensure all systems are Monitored and maintain the system performance.

Essential:
Knowledge and Experience
- Demonstrable experience in a similar senior IT role.
- Excellent working understanding of information technology and its application to business issues.
- Knowledge of business operations and processes in a large multinational or global organization.
- Demonstrable experience of building strong and productive relationships with key business customers.
- Experience facilitating change management involving business processes and organizational change.
- Demonstrated knowledge of core business processes, operations, and strategic use of technology to optimize business objectives.
- Proven experience facilitating identification of creative solutions, conducting business analysis, and verifying business requirements.
Desirable:
Qualifications & Education
- Experience of managing multi-disciplined diverse teams.
- Experience of delivering technical support in an engineering environment.
- Experience of the process of deploying applications to multiple office in a global environment.
- Experience in supporting engineering applications such as; Revit, Civil 3D, Infraworks, MicroStation, AecoSIM.
- Experience in an IT Service Delivery environment in a large organization.
- Incident, Problem and Change management.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Formal accreditation in ITIL v3 or other best practice framework
- A relevant degree or equivalent is essential - BE/B Tech/MCA from a reputed institute.
- ITIL V3 foundation is desirable.
