Role: IT Manager

Salary: £60,000 - £70,000 + Bonus

Location: Sunderland

My client, a leading manufacturer supplying clients across the UK, is looking to appoint an IT Manager. This is both a strategic and hands-on role, where you will drive the IT agenda across the business, ensure the smooth running of day-to-day IT operations, lead a small internal team and hold relationships with strategic external partners. As the business grows it is expected the scope/seniority of this role will do likewise.

The Role:

• Responsible for the smooth running of day-to-day IT operations, including systems, maintenance and upgrades
• Lead a small team of internal IT staff
• Ensure BAU activity whilst also leading on projects such as ERP upgrade, telephony system enhancements etc.
• Manage service delivery against KPIs of infrastructure and systems ensuring high quality support and maximum uptime
• Design, develop, implement and co-ordinate systems, policies and procedures as required
• Ensure data security, network access and back-up systems
• Responsible for creating and administering IT disaster plans that will keep the company functional in the event of a crisis
• Identify problematic/improvement areas and implement strategic solutions
• Nurture relationships with strategic external partners

The Person:

• Ideally degree educated in an IT/Tech related discipline
• Previous managerial experience, leading a small team
• Demonstratable experience in the engineering/manufacturing industry
• Experience of implementing and troubleshooting VMWare virtualization technology
• Experience of implementing and troubleshooting Microsoft server technologies
• Excellent decision making and attention to detail skills
• Positive, proactive and dynamic - look for solutions to problems and ways to improve
• Remain flexible in an ever-changing environment
