Job Description for IT Planning & Governance Analyst:

This role will support the IT Planning & Governance Manager with the initial development and then subsequent running of governance within the IT organisation. This role will also ensure that we have oversight of all processes across IT, with appropriate controls and governance in place to make sure processes are effective and outcomes are being achieved. This role will also be involved in process improvement, reporting and managing smaller projects of continuous improvement. This role is hybrid with some physical time at Chadwick House. Working hours are 39 hours.

Main Responsibilities

Main Responsibilities for IT Planning & Governance Analyst:

  • Support the IT Planning & Governance Manager with the day to day running of governance across the IT organisation.
  • Supporting the continuous improvement of governance both within IT and in the wider organisation.
  • Support Planning & Governance Manager in the development and guidance provided to all areas of IT, in building business plans linked into overall strategy.
  • Support Planning & Governance Manager with conducting an initial full review of all policies and procedures relating to IT, then build an ongoing plan of review.
  • Developing key stakeholder relationships across Finance, Procurement, HR, CISO and BMO to ensure governance processes inputs outputs are effective.
  • Key accountability for the weekly/monthly reporting on KPI's across the IT organisation.
  • Support the whole of IT with ensuring that all submissions into governance outside of IT are to a timely manner and of appropriate quality.
  • Being aware of best governance practices across other IT organisations, bringing recommendations for improvements to our IT organisation.
  • Ensure that all actions raised during governance forums are followed through to completion.
Ideal Candidate

Essential Criteria for IT Planning & Governance Analyst:

  • Ability to obtain SC level security clearance (this includes but is not limited to identity, employment, financial and criminal record checks plus 5 years' worth of UK residency).
  • Strong interpersonal skills and a proven ability to develop, maintain and enhance relationships with a variety of internal and external stakeholders.
  • Good understanding of project, programme and portfolio governance principles.
  • Demonstrable analytical and strategic thinking, with the ability to connect the dots across IT and the wider organisation.
  • Proven track record of reviewing and implementing either new or amendments to current processes, with demonstrable benefits.
  • Experience in generating a reporting methodology using a set of standardised KPI's across an IT organisation.
  • Ability to influence stakeholders at all levels.
  • Excellent Excel and presentation skills.
  • Proficient in PowerPoint and Visio.
  • Educated to degree level.
  • Experience in a similar role.

Desirable Criteria for IT Planning & Governance Analyst:

  • Experience of the nuclear sector and/or public sector environment.
  • Relevant qualification in Project Management or Process Improvement.
  • Experience in policy development.
