£600-633 Per Day-Inside IR35

A SC Cleared IT Service Transition Manager is required by our Government client to be responsible for providing a through life management perspective guidance on the supervision of the transition of services through the development phases into live running, with the key objective of assuring operational readiness. The responsibilities of the role focus on the management of the transition of major changes to existing services, and/or the launch of new services.

Key Responsibilities:
• Work with project teams to establish Service Transition requirements at project inception and to subsequently work with the project team providing support and guidance through service design and development in order to assure ability to support the live service.
• Act as Subject Matter Expert for the Service Transition process and provide guidance to projects as how to produce and sign off the deliverables required to gain acceptance of services into live support.
• Ensure the operational readiness of services by assuring that they can be managed, operated and supported in accordance with the requirements and constraints specified within the service design and business requirements.
• Support projects with advice and assistance regarding the completion of Service Transition artefacts and service documentation.
• To formally review and sign off project team deliverables as ‘fit for purpose’ with respect to operational readiness of a service.
• Act as a conduit between projects and Technology Operations to ensure that service management and support teams are up to date with project transition progress.

Essential Experience/ Skills:
• Experience of planning and supporting the transition of services into the live environment, including experience of progressing Service Transition document sets, e.g Service Acceptance Criteria
• Expert knowledge of ITIL Service Transition process.
• Familiar with the methods and techniques associated with planning, managing and monitoring the progress of projects, including, product/work breakdown structures, critical path analysis, earned value, resource analysis, conflict resolution.
• Familiar with business continuity concepts such as the methods and techniques for risk management, business impact analysis, countermeasures and contingency arrangements relating to the serious disruption of IT services
• Proficient in techniques for ensuring that full account is taken of customers’ real and stated needs in the delivery of products and services

Desirable Technical Experience:
• Familiar with the IT infrastructure (hardware, databases, operating systems, local area networks)
• Familiarity with Industry and Professional Standards, including, corporate change management methods, ITIL, TOGAF, Cobit
