Akkodis is currently recruiting for a Service Transition Manager to join our client on a 6 month initial contract.
Role: Lead Service Transition Manager
Duration: 6 Months
Rate: £580 per day
Status: Inside IR35
Location: Hybrid / Taunton - This role would typically require two days per week onsite in Taunton.
The Service Transition Manager is responsible for providing, from a through life management perspective, guidance on and the supervision of the transition of services through their development phases into live-running, with the key objective of assuring 'operational readiness'. The activities of the post focus around the management of the transition of major changes to existing services, and/or the launch of new services, in order to avoid undesired consequences. Following transition, sign-off the service will be integrated into the BAU activities of the Technology Division.
Key activities include:
* Become a stakeholder in projects to ensure early capture by projects of IT support transition requirements and the impact on existing services.
* Support projects with advice and assistance regarding the completion of Service Transition documentation, including Service Acceptance Criteria, Support Model and Service Transition Pack.
Person Specification
* Negotiating and interpersonal skills, ability to positively influence and persuade others to take a specific course of action.
* Experience of establishing relationships and maintaining contacts with people from a wide variety of backgrounds.
* Excellent written and oral communication skills to produce reports and give presentations at an organisation wide level.
* Experience of making decisions at the appropriate time, considering the needs of the situation, priorities, constraints and the availability of necessary information.
* Ability to maintain a strategic perspective - keeping overall objectives and strategies in mind, and not being deflected by matters of detail.
* Familiar with the project delivery lifecycle; and with the methods and techniques associated with planning, managing and monitoring the progress of projects.
* Familiar with Service Transition concepts and practices, for example, experience of progressing Service Transition document sets, etc.
* Familiar with full-service lifecycle concepts, for example the ITIL lifecycle.
* Familiar with the methods and techniques associated with planning, managing and monitoring the progress of projects, including, product/work breakdown structures, critical path analysis, earned value, resource analysis, conflict resolution.
* Familiar with the control and management of IT assets (or configuration items) including hardware, software, documentation, services, suppliers and network facilities by the use and application of strict change management and recording.
Skills
SFIA - Service Acceptance Level 5
Experience:
* Significant recent experience in a Service Transition/Service Acceptance role.
* Expert knowledge of ITIL Service Transition process.
* Experience of planning and supporting the transition of services into the live environment, including experience of progressing Service Transition document sets, e.g Service Acceptance Criteria.
* Experience in Service Management roles.
Qualifications
* ITIL v4 Foundation Certificate in IT Service Management
Please note this role is an SC Cleared position and the successful candidate will need to hold current active SC Clearance.
