As an apprentice you will learn all about how we support and manage our colleagues and customers, spending time on the Service Desk, how we manage devices including how we set them up and deploy new features that our colleagues can benefit from as well as how our Infrastructure works, including hands on experience of managing and deploying changes. We will also support you in understanding why good governance is important and using modern workplace tools to make sense of data and information.
Alongside this our Early Talent support network who will be with you every step of the way in your learning journey, with dedicated time to complete learning activities. We also have some great networks supporting LGBTQ+, Race, Disability/Neurodiversity and Women in Leadership you can get involved in, to name but a few!
You will be working towards a Level 3 Apprenticeship in IT Support.
With the support of your manager and mentor, you will have objectives to work towards to make sure you are developing during your time with us. We really want to hear your ideas throughout your time with us, so you’ll have lots of opportunity to suggest new and innovative ways of working.
We go beyond the traditional apprenticeship route to offer you the opportunity to help you learn and experience things beyond your role that will support your career development through a team challenge project with our Early Talent community.
About You
You should have a minimum of 5 GCSE’s (Grade A*-C/ 4-9, including Maths and English) are essential, preferably including an ICT grade.
An ability to communicate effectively with others via a range of methods along with first class attention to detail is a must.
Be able to demonstrate basic understanding and usage of a personal computing device with basic IT administration skills

About Us

Our IT Services teams are an integral part of the Digital and Technology Department providing service and support across a range of technologies and business areas. The IT Services teams are comprised of four key functions:
- Customer and Compliance - ensuring we consistently meet regulatory and organisational standards, providing data and reporting services
- Delivery – ensuring that we deliver key initiatives in a safe and reliable way,
- Service Management – who not only provide an IT Service Desk, and also ensure that if there is a problem or incident, we can quickly resolve it and get us back up and running
- Cloud and Infrastructure – providing the key network, datacentre, and capability for ensuring customer facing services are deployed effectively
