A fantastic video gaming client based in Chessington is looking for a 2nd line Support Engineer to come and take the role at an IT Support Engineer. You’ll be first point of contact for 2nd line and some 3rd line. They have an outsourced company who can assist you in 3rd line. So you’ll be super confident with 1st/2nd line but have had exposure to 3rd line too.
The role is Mon-Fro onsite in Chessington no remote or hybrid work for this role.
The ideal candidate will have:
- 2+ years’ experience in systems analysis 1 + years project management experience Broad knowledge of hardware
- software and programming Office 365 Experience of group policy Server 2008R2/ 2012 R2 OSX Domain controllers Back ups Active directory HP server experience
- They are looking for a stand alone IT Engineer to support the business (c.100 employees who are located across the UK).
- Stand alone - have 3rd party support but must have prior experience of supporting a business independently.
- Act as a single point of 1st and 2nd line support - logging and troubleshooting of IT related problems from in-house software to hardware
- Liaise with 3rd party IT provider on a regular basis to ensure the smooth delivery of IT services to the business.
- Take ownership of user problems and follow up the status of problems on behalf of the user and communicate progress in a timely manner.
- Providing work-around and solutions to get users working quickly
- Working closely with colleagues, and a variety of end users to ensure technical compatibility and user satisfaction
- Providing timely mobile device support to users
- Providing responsive support for remote users
- Running training sessions and workshops on system processes
- Be available to be 'on call’ out of hours and be the main contact in the IT disaster recovery programme
Systems
Maintaining and upgrading existing systems as required (including data migration) and researching emerging technologies.
- Conducting regular reviews of systems and generating reports on efficiencies and improvement areas as well as identifying options for potential solutions and assessing them for both technical and business suitability and evaluating alternative workflow solutions
- Risk mitigation planning by scheduling maintenance upgrades
- Maintaining excellent knowledge of the organisations products and services to support all customer and partner needs.
- Setting up account for staff, ensuring they know how to log in and solving password problems.
- obtaining replacement or specialist components, fixtures or fittings
- repairing equipment and replacing parts
- installing and configuring computer hardware, software systems, networks, printers and scanners
- checking computer equipment for electrical safety
- maintaining records of software licences
- managing stocks of equipment, consumables and other supplies
- Structuring and prioritising business requirements and communicating plans with stakeholders for review and approval
- Working with tight budgets, prepare costs benefits and analysis for computer systems upgrades
Administration
- Maintaining an Active directory of user accounts and groups
- Maintaining an accurate Asset Database and track changes on an ongoing basis
- Creating system guidelines and manuals for the organisation
