Job description

The starting salary for this position is £31,262 per annum for working 36 hours per week.

This position is offered on a secondment or fixed-term basis until the end of December 2024.

We support hybrid and remote working. As a team we attend our office in Woodhatch Place, Reigate typically for a minimum of 1- 2 days a week as part of the customer-facing service we provide.

About the team

Our dedicated IT & Digital Service Hub Team provide first line support to keep Surrey County Council's 11,000 strong workforce working when it comes to IT. Our team are integral to enabling staff to provide vital services to the residents of Surrey, it's as simple as that.

With the largest workforce in Surrey and a diverse range of different technology and software supporting our staff to do their jobs, the queries and support needed is often challenging, but rewarding if you are motivated by helping people and solving problems.

About the role

On a day-to-day basis you will be putting your IT knowledge and customer service skills to the test by providing technical support to help solve queries, working where needed with 2nd and 3rd line support teams. We also welcome and encourage our team to contribute and develop ideas that mean we are always getting better and enhancing the service we provide.

Sounds challenging but rest assured, you will be well supported when it comes to training and development by a friendly and positive team who pride themselves on delivering a great and highly appreciated service to the council.

Shortlisting criteria

To be considered for interview for this position, your CV and personal statement will evidence (with examples) the following:

  • Excellent communication skills
  • Ability to prioritise and manage different work
  • A commitment to / passion for delivering first class customer service
  • IT knowledge - experience of using software packages, including call-logging systems and experience of troubleshooting and working in an IT support environment
