Carbon60 are proud to be partnering with Lufthansa Technik Landing Gear Services to recruit for a IT Technical Support. Lufthansa Technik are a global leading provider of maintenance, repair, and overhaul services for the civil aviation industry.
This IT Technical Support position is on a permanent basis and has become available due to continued growth and expansion. In this role you will be the main IT technical person supporting all IT systems across the business unit. You will be responsible for maintaining internal servers, PC, printers, and WAN/LAN networks.
Role Responsibilities will include:
- 2nd line technical desktop support for all onsite users, including management of the Servers and Routers.
- 1st line Technical Support for home users as and when required.
- Act as a liaison between multiple departments/group IT, making sure this is done from start to finish.
- Involved in multiple IT projects and will be working directly with head of IT.
- Responsible in supporting the team in raising IT tickets inclusive of self-management of your own tickets.
- Involved in IT change control process of release management and platform testing.
- Carry out and coordinate testing for any IT changes alongside regular testing (Including IT project work).
- Able to create documentation for end user/included technical guides. (This will also include giving training)
- Research new technologies to suit our needs and requirements for the business, future tech ready.
- Working with a wider group of companies in applying IT best practice, internal training will be given.
- Responsible for IT security, patch management cycles for our entire IT setup (Working alongside Group IT).
Skills and Experience required:
- Basic IT knowledge and has interest in working within IT department (KPI development plan will be set).
- Technical qualifications in Microsoft, Cisco, HP would be desired, ITIL v3 or project management is good to have.
- Experience in supporting end-user for IT desktop support /Application support for over 3 to 4 years.
- Strong customer and service orientation, you will be the front line and 2nd support for the London site.
- Ability to liaise with staff at all levels and to communicate information in a simple manner.
- Can work well on own initiative and within a team environment.
- Out-of-hours support may be required at times for system updates, being flexible is very important.
