About the Role:The Faculty of Arts, Humanities, Education and Social Sciences offers a range of undergraduate and postgraduate courses. In Education these include the PGCert, MA Education, MBA, PGCE, as well as doctoral level studies. Our undergraduate provision includes Working with Children, Families and Communities, Early Childhood Studies, Montessori and Primary Education Studies. Following our successful accreditation from the Department of Education, we will be delivering courses that award Qualified Teacher Status from September 2024, starting with a brand-new three-year BEd (Hons) Primary Education with Qualified Teacher Status. We’re seeking to recruit an experienced school teacher to join us part time as a Senior Lecturer Practitioner. Maintaining currency in practice alongside an academic role, you will bridge the gap between theory and practice for the next generation of teachers in the East of England. You will ideally have primary subject expertise, experience of supporting trainee or early career teachers and a passion for the profession. In this role you will teach on the new BEd curriculum, upskill as a mentor under the new requirements for ITT and support school-based training for trainees. We are looking for you join us for 4 days a week (Mon -Thurs) from August 2024. With a degree or relevant professional qualification and extensive post qualification CPD and/or a higher degree, you’ll have appropriate and extensive school based professional practice experience. Excellent communication skills and a sound knowledge of Microsoft Office is essential, as well as the ability to think innovatively. You will have an enthusiastic and flexible approach, and will show a willingness to contribute to the collective life of the faculty.
