About the Role:

The Faculty of Arts, Humanities, Education and Social Sciences offers a range of undergraduate and postgraduate courses. In the School of Education these include the PGCert, MA Education, MBA, PGCE, as well as doctoral level studies. Our undergraduate provision includes Working with Children, Families and Communities, Early Childhood Studies, Montessori, and Primary Education Studies. Following our successful accreditation from the Department for Education, we will be delivering courses that award Qualified Teacher Status from September 2024, starting with a brand-new three-year BEd (Hons) Primary Education with Qualified Teacher Status.   

 

We’re seeking an experienced education practitioner to join colleagues in the Initial Teacher Training team within our Education department and support the development and delivery of our new BEd (Hons) Primary Education with QTS course in Chelmsford. You’ll work with the team and support students through blended use of technology and undertake module delivery in the classroom. In addition, you will be expected to contribute to the supervision of research students and to the Department Research strategy. The start date for this role is April 2024.

 

With a higher degree or relevant professional qualification in subject discipline at post graduate level, along with qualified teacher status, you'll will have successful teaching experience at HE level, and/or relevant commercial and/or professional experience. You will have excellent communcation skills and be IT literate, with an ability to think innovatively, and to meet deadlines, sometimes under pressure. You will have an enthusiastic and flexible approach with the ability to work co-operatively and as part of a team.
