Job description

NHS Junior Administrator / Trainee Administration Assistant& NHS Pathway Coordinatorwho is keen to learn with some knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook) with excellent organisational, time-management and written and verbal communication skills is required to join our team at Cellular Pathology Services based in West Watford, Hertfordshire.

NO EXPERIENCE REQUIRED - FULL TRAINING PROVIDED

We will consider candidates with little or no experience but with a desire to learn the different aspects of their role. Full Training Provided. We are committed to training and to progress you within our organisation.

School leavers are welcome to apply, as well as candidates with little experience.

The site is not accessible by public transport, so having your own transport is essential.

SALARY: Competitive + Benefits (Health Insurance, Annual Performance Bonus, Company Pension and Training)

LOCATION: Watford, Hertfordshire

JOB TYPE: Full-Time, Permanent

WORKING HOURS: 37.5 Hours per Week, Monday to Friday, Shift Pattern working between 6am - 9pm. Includes a Saturday on Rota

We have a fantastic new job opportunity for a NHS Junior Administrator / Trainee Administration Assistant& NHS Pathway Coordinator who is keen to learn with some knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook) with excellent organisational, time-management and written and verbal communication skills.

Working as the NHS Junior Administrator / Trainee Administration Assistant& NHS Pathway Coordinator you will be trained and developed with ample opportunities for career progression as our organisation grows. Cellular Pathology Services is dedicated to advancing and training you in your career within our scaling organisation.

This opportunity would suit a someone interested in learning to import and convert data, filing & packaging of patient material, digital pathology processes, and assisting in basic laboratory tasks at a UKAS ISO 15189:2012 accredited pathology. As the NHS Junior Administrator / Trainee Administration Assistant& NHS Pathway Coordinator you will work alongside our team, assisting in all areas and receive extensive training. On the Job Training and Support for Training courses are available.

As a successful candidate you must be able to learn new skills, be proactive, self-motivated, have a "can-do" attitude, have excellent telephone manners and be computer literate along with accurate keyboard skills, knowledge of Microsoft Office and good attention to detail.

Cellular Pathology Services is a private medical laboratory accredited by UKAS ISO 15189:2012 along with an office team support, which provides quality driven laboratory services to the independent and NHS sectors. Our facility is located in west Watford within modern premises.

DUTIES

Once trained your duties as a NHS Junior Administrator / Trainee Administration Assistant& NHS Pathway Coordinator include:

  • Undertake administrative duties in our medical laboratory office
  • Support the administrative aspects of the Laboratory
  • Support and perform laboratory processes under the supervision of Biomedical Science staff
  • Assist Pathologists, Biomedical Scientists, and other members of the team in ensuring that the patient is put at the heart of the departmental operations
  • Perform all administrative activities to a high standard and ensure quality is maintained at all times
  • Import and convert data into the Laboratory computer system
  • File and package patient material, ensuring it's safely packaged and labelled
  • Carefully handle, file and store NHS work
  • Receive patient tissue specimens into the department from couriers
  • Initiate and communicate with laboratory staff for efficient scanning of Digital slides
  • Efficient and Accurate Scanning of Slides / Patient samples

CANDIDATE REQUIREMENTS

  • You must be able to learn new skills, be proactive and self-motivated
  • You will need a polite and professional telephone manner with excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • You will need to be computer literate along with accurate keyboard skills and knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
  • You will have a high attention to detail with good organisational skills and time-management skills
  • You need to be a self-starter who has a flexible approach to the required hours of work and thrives under pressure
  • You will need your own transport as the site is not accessible by public transport
  • Candidates must be eligible to work in the UK
