As a Junior Commercial Finance Analyst, you'll work with numbers and data to help the business make smart decisions and strategies, especially when it comes to sales and margin. You'll use different tools and techniques to interrogate, visualize, and share data insights within the commercial Finance team and across the business.
You will also be supporting the Commercial Finance team with regular trading reporting, as well as providing deeper analysis on other financial areas such as stock and branch costs.

Key Responsibilities
- Play a pivotal role in the daily, weekly and monthly trading reporting, ensuring a sleek process
- Analyse data using statistical methods, financial models, and business intelligence tools to find out trends, patterns, and opportunities in sales and margin data.
- Create and keep up with trading reports and dashboards, with a focus on sales and margin performance.
- Assist with month end and ad hoc finance duties
- Play a role in the budgeting and forecasting processes by providing detailed analysis to support different business scenarios
- Support stores with queries around margin and cost
Skills and Qualifications
- 1-2 years of experience in data analysis, financial reporting, or similar role, preferably in a Commercial Finance setting.
- Confident and experienced at using data analysis tools and software, like Excel, Power BI and SQL to handle high volumes of data.
- Good analytical, problem-solving, and logical thinking skills, with attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to summarise and explain complex data in simple and clear ways
- Enjoys the challenge of doing different tasks
- Has a natural curiosity which helps provide greater depth of insight
- Basic Knowledge of financial concepts, principles, and practices, like budgeting, forecasting, variance analysis, and KPIs, especially related to sales and margin.
