Junior Finance Assistant

Junior Finance Assistant Location: Portslade (hybrid working) Salary: £23k - £25k company benefits Hours: Mon-Fri 8am 5pm Do you want to work for a friendly and well-established organisation within their busy finance department? If so, I have a great opportunity to join a dynamic and vibrant organisation within their finance department based in their Portslade office. Ideally you will already have experience within accounts payable and receivable and be able to prioritise your own workload and meet strict deadlines. Responsibilities: Dealing with purchase ledger queries Record all invoices and payments received daily/supplier reconciliations. Check expenses in line with company policy and record accurately. Assist the Head of Finance in recommending payments. Control and administer purchase orders and expense claims. Check payments are authorised and make payments. Posting and monitoring petty cash. Dealing with purchase ledger queries. Control company credit, debit and charge card posting. Reconcile and prepare invoices. Submit invoices on the financing portal. Post invoices onto Sage as well as third party portals. Reconcile/post bank transactions for various bank accounts. Investigate any discrepancies and errors. Maintain nominal ledger including accruals, prepayments, and fixed asset schedules. The right candidate will have the following skills and experience to apply: Proven purchase and sales ledger background. Great communication and organisation skills. Great IT skills inclusive of Excel and using accounting software, ideally Sage 50. Great attention to detail. Ability to build strong business relationships. Strong work ethic with the ability to multitask.
