Job Title: Junior Full Stack Developer

Location: Hybrid working / Head Office, Bedford MK42 9TW

Salary: GBP30,000 per annum.

Job Type: Full Time (40 hours per week), Permanent

In your role as a Junior Full Stack Developer, you will work to develop, maintain and support THSP s web-based systems.

The role will involve developing new features on THSP s portal, assist in updating and technical support of existing platforms and enhancing functionality and layout design and updating of THSP s websites.

We will provide you with thorough and ongoing training, ensuring you have the resources you need to build your skill set and succeed in your role.

Day to day tasks and responsibilities:

• Front and back-end development, maintenance, and enhancements of THSP s portals, websites and any future developments by writing clean, well-structured, and secure PHP code following the best practices and standards and allowing collaboration with other developers.
• Ensure version control is up to date before release.
• Test all updates prior to implementation in production releases.
• Log, troubleshoot and debug any issues or errors that arise.
• Monitor application bug reports. Triage, fix or escalate as necessary for timely resolution whilst keeping stakeholders informed of progress.
• Identify system enhancements/efficiencies and develop or recommend in house or third-party solutions.
• Applying your problem-solving skills to overcome challenges and contribution to the continuous improvement of the inhouse portal.
• Collaborate with the Technical Manager and other stakeholders to ensure the portals and website(s) quality and performance.
• Create and maintain documentation and user guides for systems developed and maintained.
• Keep abreast of new technologies and tools to improve the company s digital based offering and your skills.
• Ensure company policies are followed with respect to Data Protection and UK GDPR.
• Ensure timely training of staff on systems administration and support matters.
• Provide ICT support to all staff ensuring that they can continue to work and carry out tasks effectively.
• To attend and participate in meetings, to attend quarterly Colleague meetings.
• Any other reasonable tasks as required by Line Manager or Director.

What you bring to THSP

Essential Skills and Knowledge

• Hands on experience and expertise in building and developing websites and customer portals is of paramount importance and must be demonstratable on application.
• PHP/MySQL minimum of 2 years experience essential.
• Knowledgeable in web technologies, such as HTML, CSS, Javascript, jQuery, AJAX and JSON.
• Experience in working with databases, such as MySQL and SQL queries.
• Comfortable in adapting to changing priorities and you will need to manage multiple tasks and deadlines, whilst communicating on progress.
• Strong problem solving and analytical skills.
• Ability to work independently and equally as part of a team, which may be made if technical and non-technical members.
• Excellent attention to detail.

Desirable Skills and Knowledge

• Experience with WordPress including customising templates.
• Mobile application development.
• Comfortable in the use of DevOps tools such as Git to manage code versioning and documentation.
• Experience of integrating web application with various APIs and web services, such as third-party applications, customer integrations as well as internal systems.
• Creative and innovative mindset, and willingness to learn and grow.
