We have an amazing opportunity for a full-time Junior Garment Technologist to join our BadRhino team. We are looking for a Junior Tech or experienced Assistant tech that is ready for the next level. You will support the Garment Technology team, to develop garments that meets the needs, desires, and specifications of our customers within each relevant brand, in line with the overall brand identity and company ethos.
Working in partnership with the buying and merchandising teams, this role will assist in the improvement in quality and fit, to maximises sales and keep returns low.
Experience of Menswear is essential.
What you will do:
- Assisting the Garment Technologists, by organising and supporting on fit days, attending fit sessions, initiation of technical specification and fit workbooks for all product, in conjunction with the Garment Technologist
- Support the fit sample process within the critical path, ensuring that deadlines are met.
- Assist the Garment Technologist to liaise with suppliers ensuring production standards and product integrity is maintained.
- Aiding the Garment Technologist where required and Working with Garment technologist to fit product on your areas and take ownership, working closely with the suppliers to achieve desired fit.
- Working with the Garment Technologist, to monitor and report on supplier’s adherence to our code of ethics, assisting with ethical audits and addressing potential issues as directed by the Garment Technologist.
- Developing an awareness of technical procedures and risk assessing. Including fabric testing ensuring products are “fit for purpose” and the requirements of Legal, Health and safety standards.
- Assisting on product comparisons, conducting comp shops and benchmarking against other retailers
- General support of the technical team on admin and deliverables.
- Reviewing test reports and approving care labels
- Contribute to maintaining and updating packaging supplier, testing manuals and updating a block library.
What you will bring:
- Strong technical knowledge of Menswear, combined with a passion for product.
- Completed a relevant degree course / or relevant industry experience
- 2 + years experience in Garment Tech role with the ability to fit product with the buying team without the support of a Technologist.
- Knowledge of pattern and garment construction
- Knowledge of yarns/fabrics
- Excel and Microsoft Office skills
- Highly motivated and a desire to be the best with proven ability to work well as a team.
- Ability to work under pressure and at a fast pace with loyalty and commitment to the business.
- Ability to adopt a flexible approach when required and to think swiftly.
- Excellent time management and organisation skills.
