Job description

We are a Manchester based structural and civil engineering consultancy searching for an Office Junior to join our dynamic team. You will be responsible for the day-to-day office administration and office housekeeping, assisting with document management and supporting the Engineering team to deliver project information through meeting Quality Management Systems requirements.

This is a great opportunity for someone who likes a diverse range of tasks in a dynamic environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage phone calls and correspondence, including e-mail, letters, and packages etc.
  • Assist with document management to include photocopying, scanning and printing.
  • Ensure all documents received via post are stored and distributed electronically
  • Manage outdoing post
  • Manage documents (hard-copy and electronic) and maintain a robust filing system, this will include office filing areas, file creation, archiving and retrieval.
  • Support the management team to meet Quality Management System requirements, including audits.
  • Manage office administration, to include travel, meeting rooms, lunches and maintain office supplies.
  • Assist with organising company events and group events. Work closely with the business support team to ensure efficient delivery of such events.
  • Provide general administrative support to ensure efficient running of the office and support Colleagues to ensure project deadlines are met.
  • Follow and ensure compliance with all company policies and procedures and raise any issues or queries promptly with the business support team.

Key Skills:

  • Be educated to GCSE Level as a minimum
  • Competent use of Microsoft Office
  • Confident, good interpersonal skills and able to communicate effectively.
  • Have competent writing skills
  • Have great attention to detail and have strong proof-reading skills
  • Perform well under pressure
  • Be willing to take on additional tasks to support their career development
  • Have a can-do attitude
