Junior Security Operations Analyst

About the RoleThe Security Operations function is being expanded to provide services at the frontline of the University’s cyber defence, monitoring and protecting the university’s information and technology assets from a wide range of security threats and vulnerabilities. The operational security services include threat intelligence, security monitoring, alerting, network security, security incident response, intrusion detection, security engineering, penetration testing. The Junior Security Operations Analyst (JSOA) role offers new entrants to the cyber security industry the opportunity to develop their skills with cutting edge security technologies and to learn to manage security in an incredibly diverse business and technology estate. About YouThis role is an entry level role so a desire to learn and hone your skills in Security Operations is more important than experience. If you have an analytical mind, a broad understanding of technology and the threats posed by malicious actors, and a commitment build your own knowledge (don't worry, we will provide training as well) we encourage you to apply. About the DepartmentIT Services is a key enabler to the successful fulfilment of Queen Mary’s strategic goals of excellence in research, and teaching and learning. Our services support students and colleagues and range from email and internet access, to state-of-the-art teaching and learning facilities, business application software and high-performance computing in support of research. The Information Security team sits under the Office of the CIO, and is tasked with protecting all the services and data used and generated to enable the core university teaching, research and business operations.
