We have a great opportunity for an experienced Security Operations Analyst to join our Security Operations community on a permanent basis. In this role, you’ll use a variety of security tools to monitor and manage technical security controls. This is a hands-on technical role supporting the Head of Security Operations to maintain and improve the security posture at Penguin Random House UK.
In this role, you will:
Be a focal point for technical information security expertise
Manage the operational support of specific security technologies, products and services, including performing non-standard operations security tasks
Monitor internal and external cyber threats and vulnerabilities and ensure that company technical controls are appropriate
Resolve security events and operational security issues
Investigate minor security breaches in accordance with established procedures
Support delivery of on-going security initiatives and security projects
You will bring:
High levels of energy, drive, enthusiasm and ownership for improving technical security controls
Experience of working in a Security Operations environment and associated technologies including vulnerability management, endpoint security, email security, threat intelligence, cloud security, filtering services and others
An ability to learn new technologies quickly and apply them effectively
Knowledge of implementing automation in a SOC environment would be beneficial as well as being able to work with common scripting tools and languages
Experience working in a service delivery environment, including responding to and investigating reported incidents/requests through to resolution
Good verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills

The Security Operations team is part of the wider Information Security community across Penguin Random House UK, ensuring our systems are monitored and protected against technical risk. Our Security Operations team are based in London and are part of our larger Technology division based across London and Essex.

For this role, there are regular meetings and activities that you will need to attend in person mainly at our offices in London. Outside of these moments, you can choose to work remotely.
The exact balance of office to remote working will depend on the nature of your role and you’ll discuss this with your manager during the recruitment process. But, what we can say is that you won’t need to go into the office five days a week (unless of course you want to!)
