Purpose of the Role
AFII is entering into an exciting new phase of its development since its launch in 2020. AFII aims to become a highly specialised, market-driven organisation in the non-profit domain where the output and style of AFII’s work will be in line with Tier-1 investment banks. To achieve AFII’s core objectives, the organisation has put the asset owner and asset manager community as the key stakeholder to engage, educate and empower.
We are seeking a Software Developer with a strong background in data analytics and web development to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will have expertise in Python, Django, SQL, data ETL processes, web scraping and familiarity with Azure cloud and Power BI. As Software Developer, you will be a valued member of our growing dynamic team working closely with the Senior Management Team to support the work around the key areas mentioned above.
Essential Skills and Qualifications:
- Code to established standards and contribute to driving best practices within the team.
- Demonstrate a passion for solving large business problems and develop technical plans with scalability in mind.
- Utilize front-end knowledge along with data analytics experience to deliver impactful solutions.
- Maintain and prioritize software development and bug fixing schedules.
- Create and maintain technical documentation to ensure efficient knowledge transfer and system maintenance.
- Understand user needs and provide reusable, modular solutions to enhance analytical capabilities.
Essential Skills and Qualifications:
- Minimum of 2 years of software development experience.
- Proficiency in Python and experience with Django/Flask or any Python-based front-end framework.
- Strong understanding of SQL and experience with data ETL processes.
- Experienced in using python data/modelling libraries and understanding their limitations.
- Web scraping experience to handle changing data sources systematically.
- Cloud development experience (we use Azure).
- Familiarity with Power BI or similar data visualisation tools.
