This pivotal role as a Key Account Manager (Consumer Products) involves working alongside the Global Sales team to prospect & onboard new customers globally. Working across multiple retail channels which the business services, to develop and implement a growth strategy focused on driving incremental revenue for the business. Responsibilities:
Managing and developing a portfolio of customer accounts, predominantly Chain Retailers within mainland Europe and/or ROW territories
Ownership and accountability of customer forecasts and targets
Maximizing revenue by exploring all sales opportunities with a focus on growth
Administration- Processing sales orders and credits, recording and maintaining customer information and reporting upon channel progress weekly/ monthly
Using data and internal reports to put forward proactive suggestions for account growth
Implementing annual strategies with customers and coordinating key tasks to delivery dates required
Working closely with other internal departments to ensure we are fulfilling customer requirements
Have a full understanding of the overall sales department processes and be cross trained on all channels to support when needed.
Develop & implement a growth strategy for new business development as aligns with strategy provided by Head of Sales and Executive Leadership
Prospect, onboard & manage global customer accounts to achieve /exceed the monthly, quarterly, and yearly sales revenue budget targets.
Develop with the Sales Team and Head of Sales the yearly assigned channels’ sales forecast and ensuring the active management of the rolling forecast.
Delivering progress updates on new business including channel performance, customer strategies and market trends, while providing industry updates to the Head of Sales and Executive Management Team on a weekly/monthly and quarterly basis.
Ensure new commercial agreements are reviewed and negotiated.
Collaborate with the global sales teams to ensure alignment in global sales strategy.
Work with the wider Global Sales Team to identify and regularly provide the Product Development team with potential new growth areas or concepts and trends within the industry.
Work closely with other departments including Marketing Communications and Product Development to develop strong customer campaigns
Supporting Supply Chain with visibility of customer pre-orders and forecasting for peak periods of demands based on seasonality or events promoting a balanced and health supply and reducing potential out of stocks.
Have a full understanding of the overall Sales Department processes and be cross trained on all channels to support when needed.
Skills Required:
Must have minimum 3-5 years sales experience within a retail market (preferred)
Prior experience of managing Key & National Accounts – UK wide essential, europe/global scale – advantageous
Experience of working in a business development or national accounts role, preferably within consumer products/retail
Able to bring in new business and manage key retail customer accounts is essential (50/50)
Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
Excellent presentation skills.
Must be proficient in reporting and data analysis
Intermediate to advance proficiency in Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
Must have excellent written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills
Must have strong sales reporting, financial and budgeting skills
Must be organised and have excellent time management and prioritisation skills
Must be highly self-motivated to set and achieve goals
Possess the ability to work to a very high standard whilst under pressure
Must hold a Full UK driving license
Salary up to £55k basic (depending on experience) + Performance Related Bonus
25 days holiday + bank holidays, increasing to 28 days after 3 years’ service
