Job description

Based at the Rye hill campus, Newcastle College requires a dedicated, enthusiastic, and qualified person to take on the role of Kitchen Porter with in a fast paced and busy environment.

The main responsibilities of this role include working within the bistro kitchen to support the chef instructor making sure the pot wash area is kept organised and clean at all times, working with staff and students throughout the day making sure all areas are kept to the standards expected from NCG. They will follow the daily cleaning schedules as well as guidance from the head chef to make sure all relevant paperwork is correct and up to date.

This post requires a good background in hospitality and catering and the candidate must have a proven track record in the relevant area. They will have a level 2 in food safety and also a good understanding of COSHH.

An ability to self-manage workload. The hours of work will be flexible and may include evening and weekends according to demand. This is an exciting opportunity for the right candidate to join a well-motivated, cohesive and successful team.
