Pertemps has an exciting opportunity within Harrow Council for a self-driven and motivated Legal
Assistant: Criminal Litigation to join an expanding team. The role of Legal Assistant: Criminal Litigation has a competitive pay rate of £15.39 to £18.21 per hour PAYE. Other benefits include excellent training and support for career development and 21 days holiday (excluding Bank Holidays).
The Main Purpose of Legal Assistant: Criminal Litigation:
" To advise on and have conduct of legal files for civil and criminal litigation matters on behalf of the shared services councils and other clients.
" To provide advice / undertake research and support lawyers as requested concerning the work of the teams generally.
" In addition, the role includes clerking Education Exclusion Panel meetings and assisting with training of panel members and officers which can take place outside of normal office hours and off-site.
" The role will be supervised by a qualified colleagues and the post holder will be expected to provide administrative and systems assistance as a super user of an electronic case management system.
About you, the successful will have:
" Experience of working in a legal environment.
" Experience in contributing positively to a team.
" Experience in providing written and oral legal advice and guidance to officers/clients.
" Experience in conducting a caseload with minimum supervision covering criminal litigation matters.
" Experience in providing legal advice or training in a public setting.
" Must be able to understand and meet Lexcel standards in file management.
" Must be able to conduct legal research.
