We currently have an exciting opportunity to join us as a Laboratory Technician within our growing Quality Team. 

In a nutshell, you will be responsible for: 

Focusing on overseeing quality control regimes and monitoring trends in the lab and shopfloor including supporting improvement initiatives through production trials and process review. 

What you are already great at:  

Recording, analysing, writing reports, reviews and summaries on the findings of experiments and trials. 

Maintain and monitor Quality control testing and results including the identification of unusual data. 

Develop new QC tests as material understanding and business needs change. 

Oversee production trials and follow PPAP process as per Quality Supervisors guidance. 

Communicate with shop floor operatives to develop quality awareness of production processes and end product. 

Offer Quality advice within the manufacturing process, ensure Lab SOPs are up to date (QM will guide) 

Communicate with Supplier Quality team on raw material quality related issues and follow-up. 

Assist with duties within the Quality Department. 

Provide manufacturing support to the Glaze Room/Slip House, support for Raw material stock. 

Any special projects as required by the Quality Supervisor and Plant Manager 

Calibration activity (plan vs actual) – total management of Calibration System 

Wastewater treatment monitoring and sharing test result to Quality and EHSS. 

Receiving inspection of raw material as per plan and feedback to Quality Supervisor and Technical Engineer 

Carry out R & D projects to improve understanding of materials. 

Leverage IT governance processes to ensure proper project definition, socialization, and control. 

For this role we would need you to demonstrate:  

Science-based background and related qualifications. 

Previous laboratory experience in a manufacturing environment 

Exposure to ceramic materials would be advantageous but not essential. 

Well-rounded IT skills with a good understanding of MS Excel in particular 

Methodical and analytical approach to work and data management 

Effective communication skills 

Ability to work under own initiative
