Overview:
Element Manchester has an opportunity for Laboratory Technician to join our team to provide the required technical support to enable the laboratory to function effectively to support the company in achieving its annual operating plan with the appropriate level of compliance with all regulatory and company requirements.

Responsibilities:
  • Involved in the preparation of samples following Standard Operating Procedures and Study plans and potential analysis via GC/LC-MS
  • Responsible for compliance with all regulatory and Company requirements in relation to Quality, Health and Safety
  • To help build a culture that drives employee engagement and makes Element Manchester a fantastic place to work
  • To understand the responsibilities of Study Personnel as specified under GLP regulations
  • Engage in continuous improvement initiatives and ensure housekeeping and cleanliness are to the highest standards
  • Maintain relevant records (such as daily balance calibration, oven/fridge temperatures, laboratory environmental conditions etc) on a regular basis
  • Prepare samples and standards and acquire on instrumentation according to internal SOPs in a timely manner
  • Ensure that chemical and consumable stock levels are reported and maintained as directed
  • Calibrate equipment (such as pipettes, thermometers, columns etc) as directed and maintain records as required.#
  • Undertake receipt and inspection of goods, registration of samples and shipment of samples and sample containers as required
  • Communicate effectively with team members and colleagues
  • Ensure all activities are delivered in line with agreed deadlines

Skills / Qualifications:
  • Min 2 years’ experience working in a ISO17025/ GxP or equivalent laboratory
  • Experience in sample preparation techniques including Liquid/Liquid and Solid Phase Extraction
  • Experience in the preparation of analytical standard and QC samples using pipettes/volumetric apparatus.
  • Experience in the use of UV-Vis/FTIR would be on benefit but not essential
