As a Labourer in our Flexibles division in Glenrothes, you will take a customer service approach with a view that the services you provide are there to support the efficient management of your workspace and production environment. Your duties will be varied including activities that support other departments and personnel, such as cleaning, assembling, lifting, moving, and offering general assistance and support to the production and site teams. You will be responsible for the cutting and preparation of materials to meet production demands and ideally come from a Labouring/Workshop Assistant background within a manufacturing environment. In addition to the cutting and preparing of materials you will be involved in varied tasks such cleaning, assembling, lifting, moving and offering general assistance and support to the production and site teams.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Operate designated machine safely and competently, ensuring that all HSE and housekeeping standards are maintained
- Forklift driver - moving components around the shop floor, including large items between 500kg to 2 tonnes
- Assist machine operators as and when required
- Packing finished goods
- Empty swarf containers when required
- Assist Fitting & Maintenance departments when required
- Make sure workflow is maximised by moving components to the correct stations
- Assist management team when required
- General cleaning duties
SKILLS & EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
- Previous experience driving a forklift would be an advantage but training will be provided
- Experience in operating overhead cranes (desirable)
- Computer literacy (MS Office - including Outlook) (essential)
