The Role
Reporting into the Group Financial Reporting Manager, this role will be highly visible across the groups senior stakeholders and leadership. Focusing on reporting information to the groups four shareholders and delivering high quality statutory reporting, commercially focused internal and external Financial Reporting, project managing with external auditors.
The group has a number of exciting projects and commerical initiatives that this role will have in depth exposure to. With a clear path of progression, this proves to be an exceptional opportunity for a qualified accountant looking to make their first move from practice.
Responsibilities
- Support Group Financial Reporting Manager in planning, coordinating and project managing the half-year and year-end close processes
- Prepare the annual Group and subsidiary statutory accounts (FRS 102) and assist with the preparation of half year and year-end investor materials, including financial reports and presentations.
- Support day-to-day requirements of the external auditor, including coordination of information provision by colleagues
- Work alongside team in the preparation of the monthly board report to shareholders and senior leadership group
- Support bi-annual updates to the Financial Model and help coordinate reviews by the CFO and other senior colleagues and shareholders
- Support the team with ad hoc financial / corporate projects
- Work alongside the Group Financial Reporting Manager, and others as appropriate, to ensure the delivery of important projects
- Assist with preparation and delivery of an annual accounting/other relevant topics update to the Group's finance teams
Skills & Experience
- Qualified Accountant (ACA) with recent experience of working in a Top 10 professional
- Strong IT skills, including Excel, Word and PowerPoint
- Strong knowledge of UK GAAP; knowledge/awareness of IFRS would be helpful but not essential
- Consolidation experience
- Creative and agile approach with a can do approach
- Excellent organisational skills, including the ability to work to deadlines and prioritise tasks.
- Experience of leading and coaching a team
- Ability to engage with colleagues at all levels
