We have a fantastic opportunity for a Record to Report Accountant to join our Amey Group Shared Services Team in Liverpool. This role offers Hybrid working.
Reporting to the Head of Transactional Services within Amey Group Shared Services (GSS), this role will be responsible for the financial reporting of all GSS related functions. The finance activity primarily relates to cost control and involves recharges to business units.
Partnering with our stakeholders establishing solid working relationships, with a prime focus on delivering efficient and effective in scope financial reporting to GSS is key.
Supporting the wider Finance Services team in the delivery of projects, this role will bring opportunity to support specific projects within the Accounts Payable and Receivable teams.
This role will have the responsibility of one team member.
The standard hours of work are based on Monday – Friday, 37.5 hours.

You will be responsible for:
- Production of monthly management accounts and preparation of periodic reforecasts and annual budgets for each GSS cost centre
- Provision of variance analysis reporting to GSS cost centre leaders with meaningful commentary
- Management & oversight of the recharge process to Business Units, with periodic review of methodology to ensure relevance
- Effectively manage the performance of one Finance Supervisor
- Building relationships in the finance community across the business, group finance and GSS teams
- Delivery of quality reporting which drives improved results
- Ensure compliance with recognised accounting standards, policy and procedures whilst adhering to period end reporting schedules
- Support internal and external audit requirements
- To champion a culture of continuous improvement
We want to hear from you if you have:
- Part qualified ACCA/ACMA or qualified by experience
- Experience in managing small teams
- Ability to communicate effectively at all levels
- Effective collaboration with diverse stakeholders
- IT and ERP (SAP) literate
- Strong finance and analytical skills
- Deep understanding of controls, risks and associated frameworks
- Ability to plan and forecast effectively
- Process and service excellence mindset with a passion for continuous improvement
- Month end reporting and cost variance analysis presented clearly
- Budget and reforecasting process
