Abacus Laundry was set up by a dedicated hotelier who despaired at ever finding a laundry who could deliver the exacting standards required by high quality hotel.

Penny Brown has worked for some of the best hotel brands, including Raffles Hotels, and understands the value of precision and quality when it comes to hotel linen. “There is nothing like a pristine white tablecloth with a beautifully folded napkin! Same with bedtime, getting into beautifully ironed, good quality, soft cotton sheets is a real treat. It is the attention to details like this which can elevate a hotel above it’s competitor”.

We are looking for a Laundry Assistant to operate the busy laundry facility. You will be using commercial machines to wash, dry and press linen.

The ideal candidate will be a flexible team player who can work efficiently at a fast paced physical role. If you are hard-working, detail-oriented, we would like to hear from you. Experience is a plus, but not essential as we can train you on the equipment.

Responsibilities:

General:

• Sorting dirty laundry into categories
• Counting dirty linen items
• Loading and setting washing machines according to items
• Emptying washing machines into trucks and loading dryers
• Folding all towelling as specified
• Using roller iron for bed linen and table linen
• Loading clean linen into bags, labelling bags and recording numbers.
• Cleaning laundry space as required
• Observe health and safety procedures
• Report any technical problems
• Deal appropriately which stained or damaged linen as required.

Full Drivers licence would be prefered to assist with laundry deliveries but not essential

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time, Permanent

Salary: £11.50 per hour

Expected hours: 20 – 32 per week

Schedule:

• 8 hour shift
• Day shift
• Monday to Friday
• Overtime
• Weekend availability
