WHAT TO EXPECT
We are looking for Senior Leaders in Virtual Engineering to join us and lead vehicle or system programmes with concept simulation, modelling expertise and tools from research through the delivery phase to JOB1.
As the Lead CAE Engineer you will get the opportunity to be a part of a team of simulation engineers and SME’s, this role will develop modelling tools and environments. You will get to be responsible for the structural analysis and development of Chassis Components, Systems and Interfaces in support of the JLR Cycle Plan.
Key Accountabilities and Responsibilities
- Manage the development of Automotive Components/Systems using engineering knowledge and experience combined with Computer Aided Engineering (CAE) techniques, to meet chassis performance targets
- Run CAE analysis, summarise results and feedback conclusions to the component Lead Engineers in an efficient manner.
- Able to work effectively with design teams to develop and optimise solutions considering multi-attributes within defined deadlines and time constraints.
- Support and present at design reviews with key stakeholders: COC component design teams, PAT teams, packaging teams.
- Work with the Subject Matter Experts (SME’s) to ensure project documentation for each project is managed and maintained.
WHAT YOU’LL NEED
- Significant industry experience in structural finite element analysis
- Previous experience and background in solving complex technical ideas and challenges
- Previous experience of ‘solid and shell element’ based modelling of component/system level development using CAE to meet defined performance targets
- Experience in the following software packages: Abaqus Solver, Hyperworks (Hypermesh/Hyperview), Optistruct, A commercial Fatigue SW package
