Are you an ambitious data specialist who’s ready to step up and be the first dedicated Data Engineer at a rapidly growing, venture-backed startup? Does the idea of using your skillset to shape and evolve society's understanding of the human sexual psyche sound exciting?
The perfect person will be a problem solver who’s worked with early-stage data stacks. They will get a kick out of being the go-to enabler for the whole company. They’ve probably worked in a role where they’ve had to stretch and grow, maybe upskilling in engineering or leaning into data analytics too. Early-stage startup experience isn't essential, but enjoying working in a fast-paced environment is.
We are looking for someone extremely motivated, driven by tech for good, and who wants to do the best work of their career. All the better if working on a rarely discussed problem that has a hugely detrimental impact on billions of people’s lives across the globe feels like a good reason to get out of bed in the morning.
Before we talk about our product and mission, let’s be clear that although we’re tackling men’s sexual problems right now, you don’t need to be a guy to apply. We want to hear from candidates of all genders. We believe that if we solve these problems, everyone will benefit.
At Mojo, we’re sexually enlightening mankind.
Sexual problems can be embarrassing — we’ve been there. That’s why we’re changing the narrative around issues in the bedroom.
We believe that good sex starts in your head, so we’re not here to push pills or offer quick fixes to the 50% of millennials and Gen Z who now suffer from psychological issues in the bedroom. Nope, our app is created by the world’s best sexual wellbeing specialists to help our members lead thriving and healthy sex lives 💪. We are looking for someone that is excited to be part of that.
We’ve had crazy global growth, with over 250,000 members in 150 countries and counting. We’re backed by two of Europe’s top VC firms, and you might even have seen us on the front cover of the Sunday Times.

The Role
You’ll work closely with our founders, Ops & Data Lead, and engineers, report to our Technology Director, and take ownership of our data stack.
We’re an app-first experience, now the largest study into men’s sexual health ever, and the data we have is extraordinary. Your work will have the power to shape the success of the business and the evolution of psychological support for sexual issues, driving life-changing results.
As we’re an early-stage startup, there’s room for you to have a huge impact on the future of the company and a large amount of autonomy to shape your role and get stuck in. You should be comfortable adapting your role and responsibilities as the company grows. We expect this to consist of opportunities to:
- Ensure our data stack is trustworthy, accurate, and efficient
- Own our ELT setup (Fivetran, dbt), incorporating sanity checks and testing
- Work with our backend (even owning a few services) to optimize and bring in more data
- Make improvements to run our data stack more efficiently
- Build a robust data stack for performance marketing and own its reliability
- Own external relationships with providers that utilise our data
- Make data accessible to the team so they can make better decisions
- Own self-serve data tools and make sure they are set up for layman, such as Mixpanel
- Define the data framework and own data definitions and how analytics events are made
- Help the team understand the data available to them and encourage them to use it
We are building a team of people who have real ownership over the business. To be successful here, you should be willing to roll your sleeves up and get your hands dirty on anything that will help the business be more successful.
