Lead Devops Engineer (Aws)

Xpertise are currently looking for a Lead DevOps Engineer to join a client of ours within the Utilities sector. You will be reporting directly to the Head of DevOps, your goal will be to shape, build and deliver the next generation of our platform, that empowers our engineers towards a distributed ownership of backend services, whilst championing Infrastructure-as-Code.

1. £700 per day MAX.
2. Outside IR35 / 6 month rolling contract,
3. x2 days per month in the London office but can be Remote.

DevOps Engineer - Responsibilities:

• Empowering developers to take ownership of the operation, observability, performance and availability of our services.
• Lead the building of reusable, fast and repeatable CI/CD pipelines for infrastructure as code and our apps and services.
• Analysing current solutions used within the team and make recommendation for improvements.
• Optimize our cloud infrastructure to ensure resiliency, availability, and security whilst managing costs effectively.
• Improving, Measuring, Automating & repeating.
• Helping drive continuous improvement in software development practices.

DevOps Engineer - Requirements:

• Proven commercial experience of building, administering and scaling AWS infrastructure (preferably a multi environment, multi region, multi account setup)
• Experience with containerised and serverless infrastructure patterns
• Cloud security best practices: Identity and IAM Roles & Policies, Security groups, NACLs, WAF
• Containers (Docker & Kubernetes)
• Infra-as-code (Terraform, CloudFormation, CDK)
• Linux fundamentals and scripting (Bash, Python)
• Experience building reusable, efficient CI/CD pipelines (Github Actions, Gitlab, CircleCI, AWS Codedeploy)
• AWS experience
