SalaryRole Responsibilities: Provide primary medical care to registered patients, including assessing, diagnosing, and treating a wide range of conditions, ailments, and injuries Consult with patients through taking a thorough medical history, conducting appropriate physical examinations, ordering relevant diagnostic tests including (but not limited to) blood tests, X-rays, or scans and co-creating with the patient a suitable treatment plan. Prescribe medications, interpret test results, and recommend referrals to specialists or healthcare professionals when necessary Manage acute and chronic illnesses, with a focus on preventive medicine and health promotion Show empathy, professionalism, and sensitivity whilst communicating with patients, ensuring a patient-centred approach that respects cultural and individual needs Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records, ensuring confidentiality and adherence to GDPR and RCGP guidelines. Collaborate effectively and provide leadership and support to the wider multidisciplinary team to ensure seamless patient care Act as line manager and mentor to GPs and GPAs working on the service, this will include undertaking audits on notes and clinical practice to enable the Lead GP to undertake their appraisal Act as a supervisor and mentor to allied healthcare professionals working at GP Pathfinders Clinics. Contribute to practice meetings, peer reviews, and continuous professional development (CPD) sessions to enhance knowledge and skills Stay updated on medical advancements, new guidelines, and regulatory changes relevant to primary care services. Follow to local clinical governance policy and actively participate in quality improvement activities to continually improve the standard of delivered healthcare Actively participate in the surgery appraisal scheme and work towards achieving all aspects outlined on Personal Development Plan (PDP). Ensure that all statutory and mandatory training has been completed and remains in date. Adhere to registered professional codes and standards (eg GMC, RCGP guidance) Participate in practice audits, quality improvement initiatives, QOF and support implementation of updated protocols and guidelines when required Show empathy, professionalism, and sensitivity whilst communicating with patients, ensuring a patient-centered approach that respects cultural and individual needs Record and escalate any newly identified SEAs or complaints using the correct pathway.
