A new IT Operations Lead vacancy has arisen in our fast growing company. This is a fantastic opportunity to join our IT team.

LOCATION: Skegness - Head Office, Skegness with occasional working at other sites in Lincolnshire
JOB TITLE: IT Operations Lead
JOB TYPE: Full Time, Permanent
REPORTING TO: IT Manager
HOURS OF WORK: Monday to Friday, 8.00am to 4.30pm, however, there is some flexibility in hours of work (with 1-hour unpaid lunch)
SALARY RANGE: £35,000 - £37,000 (dependent on skills and experience)

Job Role and Key Responsibilities

At Micronclean our IT team provides industry-leading technologies to ensure we meet the needs of our internal and external customers, including our own garment management software and a range of web solutions for customer interface.

We’re looking for a talented and passionate IT Operations Lead to join our IT team. You will join a team of 8 IT specialists who provide both hardware and software solutions to our customers. The role is a fantastic opportunity for an individual to improve business efficiency and productivity through innovative and quality IT systems: designing, developing, maintaining, and improving all hardware and networking infrastructure.

The day-to-day role will involve serving internal customers’ support requests and tracking issues via a ticket logging system. The wider role will involve working on exciting new projects, using a variety of technologies to come up with innovative new solutions to problems and ideas.

The role’s key responsibilities will include:

  • Day-to-day coordination and supervision of the IT Support team
  • Maximising uptime of all hardware and network infrastructure, and availability of business services
  • Producing specifications for and implementing new or modified hardware and network infrastructure systems
  • Creating and owning processes for the optimal running of the internal hardware/infrastructure function
  • Second/third line support of hardware and network infrastructure systems and client-level hardware and software
  • Designing and participating in cyber security risk management activities (Disaster Planning, Vulnerability/Penetration Testing, Risk Assessments, Preventative Maintenance)
  • Installation, configuration, and maintenance of all networking equipment, including but not limited to routers, firewalls, and switches.
  • Installation, configuration, and maintenance of client devices and physical and virtualised servers, databases, and storage
  • Configuration and maintenance of all aspects of Active Directory and Microsoft 365 administration, including Exchange Online
  • Configuring and maintaining data back-ups in line with policy
  • Installation, configuration, and maintenance of service packs and security patches
  • Creating and maintaining relevant documentation
  • Maintenance of IT asset register
  • Assisting IT team members, where needed
  • Participate in scheduled out-of-hours projects and maintenance, as well as respond to out-of-hours IT emergency calls.
  • Regular travel to local production sites, and occasional travel to other UK or International sites if required.

Core Skills

Essential:

  • A demonstrably strong working knowledge of hardware and network infrastructure
  • A demonstrably strong working knowledge of cyber security risk management
  • Practical experience of Windows Server & SQL Server administration
  • Extensive knowledge of all Active Directory roles and features, including install, maintenance, and troubleshooting
  • VMware administration, maintenance, and support
  • Microsoft 365 administration, maintenance, and support
  • FortiGate firewall administration, maintenance, and support
  • HP Nimble storage administration
  • Veeam server backup administration
  • Excellent problem-solving skills
  • Good interpersonal skills
  • An ability to maintain excellence and deliver innovation
  • Full UK/EU driving license.

Desirable:

  • Bachelors Degree (or degree equivalent) in a related subject (e.g. Computer Science or STEM).
  • Any MCSA, MCSD, MCSE certification or other Microsoft role-based certifications.
  • ITIL 4 certification.
  • Experience working with engineering devices (e.g. PLCs, IoT, AI cameras)
  • Manufacturing industry experience.
  • Cyber Security Accreditations or Qualifications.
