Lead NNB Project Manager

Stirling, Scotland (hybrid)

Salary: £55k - £60k

Are you a passionate Lead NNB Project Manager, looking for an exciting new role?

Coulter Elite Resourcing are currently looking for a Lead NNB Project Manager to work with one of their well-established and very successful clients based in Scotland working as part of their Higher Management team.

The role is to lead and provide dedicated management and support of the high level NNB project contracts. Promoting and maintaining the highest standards of project management best practices through leadership, management, good governance, planning, organisation, and motivation. Organising resources to achieve defined project goals and deliverables, including day-to-day management of the NNB Project Managers and their teams to achieve project milestones. Act as the focal point for UK and overseas strategic alliance partners to support and develop New Nuclear Business for continuing New Nuclear Business and Contracts.

Principle Responsibilities for the Lead NNB Project Manager:-

Including but not limited to:

Objective:

  • Overall responsibility for NNB projects
  • Responsible for the overall execution of the projects, including all elements of execution: Safety, Quality, Delivery, and Cost, following Business Standards and Procedures
  • Promote and maintain a culture of professionalism, openness, honesty, commitment, collaboration and continuous improvement at all levels of the Projects
  • Own and lead the NNB projects risk profile, and identify and incorporate lessons learned
  • Lead NNB projects governance
  • Review and approve monthly progress reports and schedule updates, ensuring changes in scope, durations or start/finish dates are fully explained and mitigated
  • Write proposals for variations and negotiate to a successful conclusion with the client
  • Organising and attending both internal and external meetings as required (national and international travel is required)
  • Coach and mentor all members of the NNB project team. Identify suitable further training to develop them
  • Standing in for NNB Project Managers when required (leave / illness etc.)
  • Actively seeking business development opportunities in the New Nuclear environment

Measurement:

  • Active pursuit of New Nuclear business
  • Achievement of contract stage milestones and KPIs
  • Highest HSEQ Standards achieved throughout the lifetime of the projects
  • Excellent project profitability and on-time delivery achievements through the projects
  • Work with the NNB project team to constantly report, analyse, and develop improvements within contract performance

Person specification:-

  • Education/Experience:

Strong engineering and service-related background. Experience in managing major projects and leading a deadline driven project/team. Recognised engineering qualification (minimum HNC). Substantial recent experience as a Project Manager within an engineering environment with the ability to manage projects throughout the full project lifecycle, including design, manufacturing, site installation and commissioning. Strong financial and commercial understanding. Prince 2 or similar qualification preferential.

  • Product Knowledge:

Sound understanding of modern project planning/scheduling processes. Knowledge of rotating equipment is advantageous. Willing to become fully conversant with company HSEQ procedures and management systems.

  • Communication Skills:

An excellent communicator who effectively presents information to customers in one-on-one and group situations.

  • Reasoning Ability:

Ability to define problems, collect and interpret data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.

  • Computer Skills:

The incumbent should have knowledge of the following software: MS Office Suite Primavera P6.

  • Work Environment

The role will require some regular travel both in the UK and worldwide. Prepared to work reasonable amounts of overtime as needed to match the operational demands of the projectsThis is a full time permanent

  • Project Management

Develops robust project plans and effectively coordinates tasks; communicates changes and progress to key stakeholders; completes projects on time and budget; successfully manages project team activities. Manage projects fully in compliance with the Business Activity Process Plan (BAPP).

  • Interpersonal Skills

Able to communicate and build relationships with a variety of people; can interact positively and work effectively with others; focuses on resolving conflict; keeps emotions under control; has a good awareness of others and can adapt their style to manage different people; remains open and considerate to others' ideas; shows respect and empathy.

  • Business Acumen

Understands business implications of decisions and alignment to profitability. Knows the external marketplace and competition and can identify ways to achieve departmental and company strategic goals; understands the 'bigger' picture.

  • Planning/Organising

Prioritises and plans work activities for self and/or others to meet individual, team and departmental objectives; anticipates resources required to deliver tasks and identifies potential risks; able to adapt if circumstances change; checks completion of activities and progress on projects, showing awareness of deadlines and develop appropriate action plans.

Lead NNB Project Manager position, offering an annual salary of up to £60,000 plus annual company benefits to include a hybrid work.
