Lead Project Manager – Team Leader
A fantastic opportunity has arisen to join our award-winning IT team as a Lead Project Manager. As Lead Project Manager you will report into the Head of Portfolio Delivery and lead at least 4 Project Managers and support them to deliver the company’s technology project portfolio. The projects include enterprise wide solutions, deployments to our estate of 1600 businesses and infrastructure projects – and there is always a lot going on.
You will need previous experience of leading a team of Project Manager’s for this role.

What you’ll need to bring to this Lead Project Manager role…
- Experience Leading a team
- Tenacity, drive, initiative, creativity and a “can do” attitude to cope with fast paced environments and multiple demands, demonstrating the ability to solve problems and handle setbacks
- Demonstrable depth and breadth of experience implementing multiple technology projects from initial scoping into live support; with an understanding both agile and/or waterfall methodologies.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with demonstrable clarity of thinking
- Proven ability working in complex organisations with strong senior stakeholder management skills
- Effective influencer, negotiator and communicator with the ability to simplify complex challenges and manage stakeholders.
- Experience of managing multiple vendors and suppliers to ensure delivery within agreed time, cost and quality parameters
- Experienced facilitator and influencer with the ability to simplify complex challenges to stakeholders
- Commercial awareness Understand and communicate complex information and concepts to technical and non-technical colleagues, influencing others effectively, including at a senior level.
Qualifications…
- 5 years’ (minimum) experience as a Project Manager (technology projects)
- Prince 2 or recognised Project Management qualification
- Business Analysis qualification or equivalent demonstrable experience
- Agile Methodology qualification – or equivalent experience
- Working awareness of ITIL v3
You will primarily be based at our Birmingham head office, with the ability to work from home/ out of office.
