Leonardo has a fantastic opportunity for a Lead Systems Engineer to work on a large-scale EW integration programme with the ability to influence the practical application of good practices on Model Based Systems Engineering & Requirements Engineering across the whole Engineering lifecycle.
The successful candidate will be a talented engineer with significant understanding of Systems Engineering principles and practices with a strong background in architectural design through the application of a variety of MBSE tools and techniques. Significant experience across all lifecycle stages within large and complex programmes will also be an advantage.
The role will require strong technical and people management skills, with an ability to influence and build consensus across a wide range of stakeholders. The successful individual should have significant experience facilitating requirements reviews, keeping accurate notes, ensure requirements and verification statements meet acceptable standards, support and advance requirements engineering using the DOORS requirements toolset across the IPT.

Key Responsibility AreasEmploy a model-based Systems Engineering approach to develop architectures and requirements on an EW integration programmeProvide technical guidance and Systems Engineering governance to a growing teamPerform use case analysis for requirements derivation based on various operational scenariosUndertake top-down system design, explore architectural options and complete trade-off studiesDevelop system requirements and translate them into subsystem requirements and interface definitionsLead technical interchange meetings with internal and external customers, suppliers and stakeholders to agree the solution optionsCollaborate with implementation and verification / validation teams to ensure delivery of a fully compliant systemPlanning of demonstrations and trialsTechnical reporting of key findings and recommendations for delivery to customers and industry partners You must be eligible for full security clearance.

Skills, Qualifications & Knowledge Required
You really must have:High proficiency working across the Systems Engineering lifecycle.Experience of engineering gate reviews and the associated assessment of design compliance.Expertise with MBSE processes, tools (e.g. Cameo System Modeler,) and languages (e.g. SysML).Familiarity with using IBM DOORS for requirements development and management.Highly proficient at requirements elicitation, negotiation and definition.Awareness of agile development methodologiesStrong numerical and analytical ability.Ability to cope with a high degree of design complexity and significant levels of uncertainty.Experience of supporting design / delivery teams to develop complex, technical solutions in accordance with plans and processes.Self-motivated with an aptitude for problem solving and driving difficult issues to conclusion.Excellent verbal and written communication / collaboration skills.Experience of working with a variety of internal and external stakeholders of varying seniorities.
