Role: Learning and Development Assistant

Job Description

Our client is currently looking to fill the position of Learning & Development Assistant within our Oxford HR team. This role has been recently established and will report directly to the L&D Manager. The successful candidate will be responsible for assisting with the coordination, planning, and administration of our Learning and Development activities. This will involve closely collaborating with the L&D Manager to identify learning needs and successfully deliver training opportunities throughout the organization, including for Early Careers employees. This is an excellent opportunity to join a rapidly growing top 50 accountancy firm. Our client operates multiple offices in Central and Southern England and is pursuing ambitious goals for business expansion. Key Responsibilities:

  • Execution of L&D administrative tasks, ensuring accuracy, proficiency, and comprehensive support across various aspects of training and the employee lifecycle, to ensure the effective day to day running of the department.
  • Deliver an L&D administration and logistics service to the business including co-ordinating diary availability and communicating joining instructions to participants.
  • Building relationships by communicating with external trainers, participants, and managers regarding L&D details. Provide information about programmes. Send reminders and notifications related to training activities.
  • Be the first point of contact for all employee L&D queries, updates, and requests. Provide guidance and information. Escalate issues to the L&D Manager when required.
  • Organise internal and external technical training courses, monitor completion of regulatory training and professional qualifications to meet business needs.
  • Co-ordinate our Leadership Academy of management and leadership training, interpersonal skills training, and client relationship management training.
  • Ownership of our digital learning platforms, maintaining training data, training bookings, training programme applications, records and documents via these platforms and MS Excel.
  • Support in the coordination and administration of EC activities such as apprenticeships, graduates, trainees, local careers fairs and events.
  • Administer Apprenticeships
  • Continuously improve our 'customer experience' through monitoring and organising course materials, equipment, refreshment and support facilities, and the post-course evaluation and feedback process.

Personal Attributes and Skills


Working within this sociable and collaborative environment, you will have at least 2 years’ experience in an administrative role, preferably in HR/Learning & Development.
An interest in progressing a career within Learning and Development
Fully fluent in English and able to communicate confidently and clearly, via written, verbal and video call channels.
Proficient in MS Office/365 applications, specifically Excel and able to pick up new IT software very quickly.
Familiarity with Learning Management Systems or Digital Learning Tools desirable
Emotionally intelligent with a real desire to contribute to the training And Development of employees.
Motivated by and interested in learning, organisational culture, inclusivity, behavioural psychology.
Enthusiastic and outgoing, relationship/people centric
Analytical problem solver with a proactive can-do attitude and ability to effectively manage workload and prioritise tasks.
Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy
Enjoy working collaboratively as part of a team and self-motivated when working independently.
Full UK Driving License is desirable as occasional same-day travel may be required
