Learning & Development Advisor

Reporting of the Role
This role reports to Head of Talent Development
Overview of job


We want every Globaller to have the chance to develop their skills and potential and enjoy a rewarding career at Global. Working closely with the Head of Talent Development and wider team, this role will design and deliver creative and innovative talent development initiatives across the business.

Measures of success –
In the first few months, you would have

  • Supported the roll-out of the Commercial learning priorities for 2024/25
  • Reviewed all PowerSkills training content, in preparation to deliver future workshops
  • Supported the roll-out of functional inductions

Responsibilities of the role


Manage, plan, promote and deliver our PowerSkills training offer for all Globallers

  • Coordinate annual training plan, based on learning needs and demand
  • Manage training calendar within learning.global
  • Design and deliver internally-led, in-person sessions
  • Design and implement any bespoke digital learning courses
  • Source and manage any external training providers

Design and deliver development solutions across the business, based on needs identified by TD Manager

  • Deliver TD content for central & functional induction schemes to include training as well as any supporting content (e.g. guides)
  • Deliver sessions for early careers programmes
  • Design and implement any bespoke digital learning courses

Work with TD Manager to support our partnering approach

  • Work with TD Manager in identifying specific needs
  • Source relevant training or design bespoke sessions
  • Support delivery of bespoke training or team development

What you will need


The ideal candidate will be proactive and willing to develop and implement innovative solutions, capable of the following:

  • A strong understanding of the full learning cycle to include identifying needs, recommending creative and innovative solutions that need the business need, implementing the solution to a high standard and evaluating the return on investment
  • A passion for developing people, championing a learning culture within Global and always thinking with a continuous learning mindset
  • Exceptional training design skills, virtual and trainer-led, to include:
    • Ability to research topics and current trends around that subject matter
    • Ability to ensure all content is business-relevant, aligns with our purpose and values and reflects the tone and style of the business
  • Exceptional facilitation skills, to include:
    • Ability to present complex information in a clear, compelling, and simple way
    • Delivering content in an engaging way that supports the learners
    • Public speaking skills such as pace, projection, eye-contact, inclusive language etc
    • Ability to adapt to a diverse audience and ‘work the room’ be that face to face or virtual
    • Active listening and effective questioning techniques to ensure all learners are engaged and making the most of the content
  • Critical-thinking and commercial-awareness skills; using analysis and evaluation to propose a development intervention that meets the needs of the business and has a strong return on investment for the Globaller and for the business
  • Relationship management skills: able to build effective relationships quickly with your key stakeholders, gain buy-in, maintain an active network, influence others and being a trusted partner
  • The ability to keep up to date with external and internal trends and understanding how this knowledge can be used to enhance our development offer current industry trends e.g. external networks
  • The ability to adapt to needs of business, demonstrate resilience and operate at pace in an ever-changing business environment
