Job Title: Learning Services & Library Assistant
Location: PAL, Balliol, Sefton
Salary: £20,877.00 Pro Rata- Actual salary will be pro-rata down for term time only dates.

We have an exciting opportunity for a Learning Services & Library Assistant to join our team in the ICT & Learning Services department. You will be working across three Learning Services Centres on two campuses, providing assistance to library users and promoting the Learning Services Centres to create a welcoming and supportive environment for all. The ideal candidate should be proactive, approachable, and able to work well with both students and the general public. With your positive and friendly attitude, you will play a key role in delivering excellent customer service, providing assistance with library resources (both physical and electronic), and ensuring that library users behave appropriately in the study areas within the Learning Services Centres.

Key Responsibilities
- Staff the library help desks and use the computerised library system to issue, return and renew books.
- Support library users in their studies by helping them access library resources, both physical and electronic.
- Supervise study areas within the Learning Services Centres (LSCs) ensuring that library users behave appropriately and that centre rules are adhered to.
- Undertake first line works within your assigned area as part of the ICT Helpdesk.
- Assist in the procedures for rotating library stock and liaising with college staff and students regarding new acquisitions.
- Assist in the promotion of the LSCs.
- Safeguard and promote the welfare of children, young people and vulnerable adults who are students of the College.
- Assist in the identification of all risks which could damage the reputation and financial viability of the College/School/Section.
Requirements:
- 5 GCSE’s to include Maths and English at C or above.
- Knowledge of library management system and library operations.
- Excellent customer service and experience of customer facing roles.
- Good communications skills.
- Experience of delivering a customer centred service.
- Ability to work with both students and the general public.
