SalaryStep Into Teaching can offer you a position as a SEN Teaching Assistant, that'll offer you the chance to gain vital classroom experience that will enable you to gain insight into the classroom environment and a career in education. We are currently working with wonderful secondary schools based in Weston-Super-Mare who are looking for a passionate graduate to support their students.
In this role, you will be supporting a range of SEN needs including ASD, ADHD, Global Developmental Delay, and those with social and emotional needs. You will be supporting pupils participate fully in learning the national curriculum, gain their independence whilst assisting general life of the school. You would be paid between £410 - £440 per week and the hours would be full-time term time only (Monday – Friday 8am-4pm). The role is an ASAP start and will continue until July 2024.
Job Specification:
- You must be predicted/hold a degree (2:2 or above)
- Previous experience working with young people (preferable, not essential)
- You must be passionate about supporting students with their learning.
- You must be flexible, and able to tailor your teaching approach to suit individual needs.
- You must have an interest in a career in education or working with young people.

- To establish a warm, caring, and supportive relationship with students in order to support them feeling safe and protecting their welfare.
- To promote and encourage independence and personal development in students and maintain high expectations of behaviour at all times.
- To respond to the varying and changing needs of the school and adapt to any task presented to achieve the smooth running of the school.
- To demonstrate the ability to work collaboratively within a multi-professional team.
The successful graduate will have the energy, drive and commitment along with the knowledge to make an improvement to the student's lives.
