Loughborough Grammar School are looking to appoint a hardworking and enthusiastic Learning Support Assistant to work part time with students from ages 10-18.
The ideal candidate will have experience supporting students at GCSE and A Level. They will have a passion for working with children and assisting them to achieve their full potential.
The role will involve:
- Supporting students with their studies
- Providing intervention for small groups and 1:1 support
- Encouraging students to develop the skills to access the curriculum independently.
- Being proactive in providing for any known barriers that might impede smooth personal and educational development and progress.
- Providing students with experiences and resources to provide the most direct route to learning.
- Reinforcing learning and skills with the student so that their understanding, visual and communicative development are enhanced.
- Pre and/or post-tutoring to reinforce learning and to ensure that key concepts are understood.
- Promoting self confidence and self-esteem.
- Promote resilience and helping to build student self-worth
- Keeping up to date records
- Preparing support for students
- Contributing to the development of Learning Support within the school
- Helping to build resilience with the student.
- Support the department with school exams.
- Support with screening and admin
- Attending relevant and mandatory training and keeping up to date with legislation and policies
