Job description:We seek to appoint an outstanding Lecturer in Financial Technology (Fintech). Candidates should have academic expertise in research on FinTech, broadly defined as applications of technology and data analysis methods in the context of financial markets, institutions, and financial decision-making by individuals. This can include, but is not limited to, the analysis of innovations in payment systems (including cryptocurrencies); use of technology (e.g., AI) and big data analytics in: investment advice (incl. identification and addressing of behavioural biases and cognitive limitations), asset management, credit markets, risk management, and regulation/compliance; analysis of financial and textual data using machine learning (ML) techniques and AI; and investigation into the intersection of artificial intelligence and human behaviour.For this role we encourage applications from individuals who can complement our existing team, we believe that success is built on having teams whose backgrounds and experiences reflect the diversity of our university and student population.Successful candidates will have a strong research trajectory in Accounting & Finance with significant potential to generate research income, pursue impact activities, and to develop an international reputation.
