An exciting opportunity has arisen to join our Personal and Professional Development (PPD) team. Our PPD team work hard to engage learners who have previously disengaged with formal learning or who may need to work on their core skills before progressing onto full vocational and occupational courses. We are looking for a vibrant and committed personality who will combine a good honours degree in mathematics or similar professional qualifications and a recognised teaching qualification, with the ability to inspire students and staff. The successful candidate may be required to teach on Functional Skills mathematics up to and including L2, with the willingness to work toward being confident in delivering GCSE syllabus also. They will also need to be committed to CPD and engaging with mathematics as a subject to give learners the best possible experience whilst with us.
The successful applicant will be required to provide high quality teaching on education programmes and contribute to providing an outstanding learning experience for our students. A commitment to curriculum development and a flexible approach to teaching and learning are required. They will also need to work with confidence with a wide variety of ability levels and project enthusiasm for all aspects of the subject.
As well as teaching, the successful candidate is likely to have responsibility for a tutor group.
