Job description

Newcastle College requires a dedicated, enthusiastic and qualified person to take on the role of Lecturer in Renewable Energy Engineering. We are interested in candidates with teaching experience and those who wish to start a new career in teaching. Newcastle College will provide support and training for new teachers and will support you in gaining your teaching qualification. This role's main responsibilities include delivering and assessing high-quality learning programmes in Renewable Energy Engineering across various levels of further education, higher education and/or apprenticeship provision, as well as undertaking a range of programme leadership, tutorial and programme administration duties. This post requires a strong background in Renewable Energy Engineering, and the candidate must have a proven track record of professional/vocational expertise in the Engineering sector. The candidate must be qualified to the honours degree level (Level 6) or to the industry-recognised standard in a relevant field, hold a post-16 teaching qualification and English and maths qualifications at level 2, or be willing to achieve these within an agreed timeframe. It is desirable that the candidate has experience in effective programme leadership in FE, HE and/or Apprenticeships and has a proven track record of successful teaching and assessment practice. The ability to self-manage workload and meet deadlines, strong oral and written communication and good IT skills are also essential. The work hours will be flexible and may include evenings and weekends according to demand.
