Lecturers – Green Skills Construction and Sustainability – 2 positions available

18.5 Hours per week X 52 Weeks per year

Salary Range £14,910 - £18,374

We are looking for new additions to the team, who are excited to bring fresh ideas to the table and help us make Sheffield College the first choice for those looking to make an impact in Green Skills Construction, Sustainability and Retrofit. In your first six months in post, you will be delivering on a very specific project where you will be teaching committed Construction adult learners who have already progressed into employment and are now required to upskill.

If you come from industry, we have all the resources to fully support your transition into teaching and are looking for people just like you to pass your skills on and unlock opportunities for the next generation of the skills workforce. We have an extremely talented staff force made up of people from multiple disciplines, so applications will be considered from all fields of Construction! Upskilling is available on specific areas you might not be familiar with or worked with recently.

This role is ideal if you:

  • Are a Construction Lecturer with experience of successfully delivering sustainability and retrofit programmes
  • Would enjoy teaching Green Skills Construction in a brand-new state-of-the-art sustainable construction centre
  • Want to network with both regional and global companies in the sector through development days and other exciting projects to help keep our provision cutting-edge

Day-to-day, you will:

  • Delivering hands-on Green Skills – Sustainability and Retrofit content to adult learners at a range of levels
  • Liaising with external companies to ensure the programmes are constantly up-to-date and learners get a consistently great experience
  • Engaging with both academy and cross-college CPD to improve your teaching and learning practices, as well as programmes with industry to ensure your knowledge is up to date
  • Successful delivery of new Green Skills Construction programmes
  • Working with adult learners to help them progress their careers
  • Champion our commitment to putting students first

After your first year, success in this role would mean you have:

  • Have built learner skills to a high level to help move them forwards
  • Enthusiastically engaged with professional development to expand your education skills and further your FE career
  • You have worked closely with external partners to support learner progression into positive destinations
