Ledger Manager
Location: Halifax
Employment Type: Full-time, Temporary
Salary: £16.92 p/h - Potential for longer-term opportunity.
Working Hours: Full-time, 37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday, 8:30 am to 5:00 pm with a one-hour lunch break
Are you seeking a rewarding role that values diverse experiences? Stafflex are currently supporting our client in a time of change that has brought forward a need for a Temporary Ledger Manager. We are seeking a dynamic individual to fill a newly available position, offering an immediate start for the right candidate and a potential for a longer-term role once a department restructure is established.
Holding responsibility for managing Purchase Ledger, Sales Ledger and Cashbook Ledgers, the successful candidate will be supporting a Financial Director, managing a Finance Assistant, managing credit control processes and covering the assistant accountant when required.
As a Ledger Manager, you will play a crucial role in our client's success by:
- Managing ledgers for UK and US based operations.
- Managing the Finance Assistant, ensuring all day-to-day ledger tasks are adhered to.
- Review and approve weekly payment runs.
- Ensure timely payment and invoices are processed ( 400 invoices per month).
- Perform daily debtor and creditor reviews, keeping to strict ledger balance limits.
- Manage credit control processes.
- Reporting to Group CEO and Group FD, building good organisational working relationships.
- Manage expenses and ensure claims are paid in line with policies.
- Oversee baking reconciliations for GBP, USD and EUR accounts.
- Assist in year-end accounts and external audit process
- Cover for Assistant Accountant when required.
Requirements: To thrive in this role, you should possess:
- 3+ Years' experience of managing ledgers and a ledger team is essential.
- Use of Sage 200 or corporate accounting software.
- Accounting experience (including posting journals).
- Organisational/time management skills.
- Strong communication.
- Ability to meet deadlines.
- Common sense, logical thinking, and a positive attitude.
- Ability to produce accurate financial information and reports.
- AAT or part accountant qualification.
- A desire for continuous learning and professional development
