Legal Administrator
• NHS Agenda for Change, Band 4- £25,147 - £27,596 per annum pro rata
• Part time – 20 hrs per week (flexible)
• Home working or hybrid (home/Crawley HQ)
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Administrator to work within the Legal Services department handling enquiries from Solicitors, Coroners and the Police. You will also deal with the administration of care proceedings cases, arranging witness statements from colleagues and witnesses’ attendance at court.
The role is fast paced and requires the ability to interrogate multiple Trust IT systems for data and provide accurate responses quickly to external agencies. The successful post holder will be able to work independently and handle a large and demanding case load. The work is interesting but emotionally demanding, dealing with distressing cases, so you do need to be emotionally resilient. You will have extensive experience in administration to support the effective use of time, prioritisation and the maintenance of the department’s filing system.
In addition, you will need excellent English verbal and written communication skills and have the ability to prioritise and make judgements involving demanding and sensitive issues.
• To support the Trust in providing a proactive and effective legal service to Trust managers and colleagues across the Trust:
• Through the development and maintenance of effective systems for the management and handling of enquiries requiring investigation from Solicitors with regard to civil or criminal court action or care proceedings
• To support the handling of enquiries from the Police or Coroners Officers
• To be responsible for supporting Operational Colleagues in the collation of suitable evidence, documentation or statements as required.

The post holder will act as a source of advice and support to all staff, in the use of the investigations systems and processes.

The post holder will be required to work with sensitive information liaising with internal and external stakeholders regarding investigations. Specifically this will include maintaining structured systems and processes for the reporting and management of investigations, information gathering to create investigation files of required evidence, reporting and highlighting any associated risks resulting from active investigations, trends and themes; the coordination of internal and external reporting including providing data; providing a point of contact for coroners, the police, solicitors, general public and within the organisation, providing general support to the wider legal services team.
